The Ritz-Carlton Cafe
The brand-new Ritz-Carlton hotel in Macau is beautifully designed, with opulence in every corner. Even its casual all-day cafe is nothing short of stunning. Designed to resemble a high-end Parisian bistro, the venue makes great use of marble, brass and mirrors for a continental look; we’re not quite as convinced by the use of actors posing as mimes, however. Still, the food is fantastically French, with classics such as lobster bisque and steak tartare done to a very high level; oysters are perfectly shucked and served at the ideal temperature. The wine list is well curated, with specials highlighted in a by-the-glass promotion, and cocktails are fun and fresh. Service is friendly and polished, as would be expected of The Ritz-Carlton brand.
