Founded by French countess Lily Pastré in 1948, the annual international music festival held in the sun-drenched southeast of France serves up an operatic feast for its 70th anniversary programme. It features productions of Richard Strauss’s Ariadne Auf Naxos and Mozart’s The Magic Flute alongside Orfeo & Majnun, an innovative participative urban walkabout followed by a free open-air opera in a co-production with seven European partners.
