The who’s who of Hong Kong society don their finery for the Hong Kong Tatler Ball, the highlight of the season
he red-carpet glamour and splendour of the Hong Kong Tatler Ball, the most anticipated event of the social season, return to the ballroom of the Grand Hyatt on September 10. This year’s bash is set to be yet another black-tie bonanza. The evening will see glamazons, tastemakers and tycoons slip on their dancing shoes and brace themselves for a night brimming with fun, fanfare and a good dash of frivolity, all made possible by the kind sponsorship of The Macallan, Vacheron Constantin and Shanghai Tang. This year’s theme is The Splendid Journey, and guests can expect, via the decor, dancing and degustation, to be taken on a magical adventure embodying the very spirit of travel. We will also be revealing the recipients of our much-anticipated Hong Kong Tatler awards: Most Promising Young Lady, Leader of Tomorrow, Most Stylish Woman and the Diamond Award, which recognises important philanthropic contributions. It will most certainly be a night to remember. Lane Crawford will host a party on September 7 at its IFC store to celebrate the new brands and emerging designers available, followed by a party at the Canton Road boutique the next day. A highlight will be the presence of shoe designer Stella Luna. A private dinner will also be held for Stella and VIPS on September 8. HAT TRICK Guests will learn how to stylishly incorporate a hat into their outfit at a party Joyce is hosting at its Central flagship boutique on September 8.
