KEEP ROLLIN’

The new range of Louis Vuitton luggage allows for more junk in your holiday trunk—huzza!

-

Australian designer Marc Newson has given Louis Vuitton’s classic monogram trunk a thoroughly modern makeover. The extendable handle now retracts into the outside edges of the case, allowing more packing space, a special lock system significantly reduces weight and the super-chic package glides on four pairs of wheels. “I’m obsessive about packing everything into a bag of a certain size,” says the designer, “which is why it was so important for me to design a product that could be the perfect piece of luggage for a person like me— someone who travels a lot and won’t travel with anything more than is absolutely necessary.” The new rolling trunks come in a variety of monograms, taiga leather, natural cowhide leather and a rainbow of seven colours of Epi leather, and in two cabin sizes (50 x 35 x 20cm and 55 x 39 x 21cm), with a larger check-in bag in the pipeline. They’re ideal for travellers who like things that look good—and work even better.
