Seizing the Day

Even a demanding cover shoot couldn’t keep this year’s Generation T listers from building connections

The Hive, a co-working space in Kennedy Town, couldn’t have been a more apt location for our Generation T cover shoot. The seven entrepreneurs and creatives—who represent just a snapshot of the 50 young game changers on this year’s Generation T List—seemed completely at home in the design-forward space, clicking away on laptops, tapping into conference calls and even taking quick side meetings between shots. Even an unusually busy day in the Hive’s studio, which included shooting for two separate covers (see right), didn’t seem to slow them down. That’s when they weren’t building connections, of course—swapping contact details and sharing stories. “It’s like a power networking session in here,” joked Max von Poelnitz, one of the 2018 Generation T listers, during a wardrobe change.

For the Generation T team, this couldn’t have worked out any better. Part of the platform’s mission, after all, is to be a connector for Asia’s future leaders. It’s just that no one anticipated that was possible in the hectic environment of a cover shoot. Clearly the members of this group of young talent don’t have an off switch. Time is of the essence when you’ve got whole industries to disrupt.
