ON MY WRIST

A Panerai Luminor 1950 3 Days Titanio, which I got for myself. Comfortable and distinctive, it combines a lot of characteristics that I really like, e.g., titanium, DLC coating, the California dial, and the Luminor case.

HOLIDAY WATCH

More and more, I wear an Apple Watch on short holidays, as it keeps me notified of any messages without having the iphone within eyesight. I often bring another watch, particularly on longer trips, usually a sports watch.

EVERYDAY WATCH

An Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore in titanium!

BLACK TIE WATCH

I often choose an A. Lange. & Söhne Zeitwerk, or a Piaget Altiplano Automatic. I’ve come to associate them with formal occasions, although not exclusively.

SENTIMENTAL REASONS

I’m particularly attached to my IWC Schaffhausen Dopplechronograph, which was the last watch I received directly from my late father. I spent a lot of time debating between it and the newer Spitfire design, but in the end, I’m glad I chose this one—for sentimental reasons, and because it is now considered a classic.

ON MY RADAR

Back to Panerai for this one, the Luminor Submersible BMG Tech, which was presented last year but hasn’t been delivered yet. I like it because the material is as light as titanium, but virtually unscratchable. It’s ideal as a holiday or weekend watch, and I’m also quite fond of blue dials.
