HARRY WINSTON’S MANDARIN BOUTIQUE

-

The Mandarin Oriental has been at the heart of Hong Kong life since the 1960s— and stepping into the cool, black-and-white lobby is to relish a world of low ceiling fans, doormen dressed in scarlet, old-fashioned barber salons and complimentary afternoon scones with rose jam. So it is no surprise that the House of Harry Winston, the legendary “king of diamonds,” chose to site its second Hong Kong boutique in the hotel.

To celebrate the opening, our favourite Hollywood star, Kate Hudson (left), popped over to Hong Kong to cut the scarlet ribbon and wander around the dazzling new displays. Designed to evoke the glamorous estates of upstate New York, the new salon has already welcomed some of the house’s finest diamonds and rarest gemstones. Which means lunch at Café Causette just got a bit more exciting.
