Fea­tur­ing stun­ning drone videog­ra­phy and in­spi­ra­tional in­ter­views with lo­cal en­vi­ron­men­tal ac­tivists, the film “Start Small. Start Now. Hong Kong’s Plas­tic Story” shows the shock­ing ex­tent of plas­tic pol­lu­tion plagu­ing our city, from sty­ro­foam con­tain­ers and plas­tic bags used for take­away or­ders to moun­tains of rub­bish wash­ing up daily on our beaches. The 18-minute film is a col­lab­o­ra­tion be­tween Photo Es­capes, an award-win­ning film duo, and Eco­drive, a non­profit or­gan­i­sa­tion founded by 11 Hong Kong women to fight sin­gle-use plas­tics. Fam­ily and friends of the co-founders gath­ered at the Up­per House Sky Lounge for the pri­vate screen­ing. Emily Lam-ho and Sherry Fung made brief speeches af­ter­wards, high­light­ing easy steps we can all take to make a pos­i­tive change.
