197 Helping Hands Ecodrive’s “Start Small. Start Now” screening
Featuring stunning drone videography and inspirational interviews with local environmental activists, the film “Start Small. Start Now. Hong Kong’s Plastic Story” shows the shocking extent of plastic pollution plaguing our city, from styrofoam containers and plastic bags used for takeaway orders to mountains of rubbish washing up daily on our beaches. The 18-minute film is a collaboration between Photo Escapes, an award-winning film duo, and Ecodrive, a nonprofit organisation founded by 11 Hong Kong women to fight single-use plastics. Family and friends of the co-founders gathered at the Upper House Sky Lounge for the private screening. Emily Lam-ho and Sherry Fung made brief speeches afterwards, highlighting easy steps we can all take to make a positive change.
