Fol­low­ing launch par­ties in New York and Manila, Bon­nae Gok­son threw a cock­tail party for a se­lect group of friends to cel­e­brate the launch of her lat­est book, Wed­dings, But­ter­flies & the Sweet­est Dreams. Mon­ica Wong, Charles Yang and Michelle Ong were among the fa­mil­iar faces gath­ered in the Bank­side area of Sevva, which had been filled with pink and white flow­ers from Yvonne Kung’s Ro­coco bou­tique. In typ­i­cal Sevva fash­ion, there was an end­less sup­ply of cham­pagne and cake—in­clud­ing the five-tier wed­ding cake cre­ated for the oc­ca­sion to an­chor the space. Bon­nae gave a speech, in which she thanked fam­ily, friends and fans for their sup­port, be­fore in­tro­duc­ing il­lu­sion­ist Jeff Teo, who wowed the crowd with his med­ley of tricks. Bon­nae’s pre­vi­ous book, But­ter­flies and All Things Sweet, won three in­ter­na­tional awards in 2014 and, judg­ing by the num­ber of guests queu­ing to get their hands on it, her lat­est of­fer­ing will doubt­less en­joy sim­i­lar suc­cess.
