British artist Nigel Cooke’s paintings of shadowy figures and mysterious landscapes have caught the attention of curators at leading institutions around the world, including London’s Tate Modern and the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim in New York. This exhibition at Pace features a series of never-before-seen works that Cooke has made using a mixture of traditional and modern techniques, ranging from pencil drawing to stencilling and spray painting.
