There’s no such thing as too high a stiletto, so why put a ceiling on the height of your hair? Designers at the spring/summer 2019 shows certainly didn’t. Audrey Hepburn with a hint of Amy Winehouse was the muse for a plethora of buns, bouffants and beehives of various heights, volumes and even colours that floated down the runways. At Anna Sui, rockabilly-inspired messy top knots resembling turbans were teased and textured to perfection, while Matty Bovan created major drama with neon-hued ’60s beehives slicked back with plenty of hairspray.
