Global Development Deficit and China’s Governance Efforts
WU Zhicheng & LIU Peidong
With the deepening of economic globalization and the growing instability and uncertainty of the world, the global development deficit is becoming increasingly serious. It has manifestations such as inadequate global development, unbalanced development space, insufficient development momentum, imperfect development aid and unsatisfactory
development environment. The global development deficit is mainly caused by the negative impact of globalization, the spillover of failed national governance, the inherent weakness of the existing development mechanisms, the adverse effect of westernized development model and the expansion of individualism in the West. To this end, China has launched a series of important measures to build consensus and enhance the efficiency of global development. China has made great efforts to build a community with a shared future for mankind, promote the Belt and Road construction and the reform of the mechanism for global development, advance the modernization of national governance, and strengthen international exchanges. With these concrete actions, China has contributed its share to tackling the global development deficit.
