Structure is in place for digital win
SHANGHAI has built a complete digital infrastructure which includes faster broadband networks, intelligent urban management and health care systems as well as a wide coverage of 4G and Wi-Fi networks, city officials said yesterday.
By the end of the third quarter, Shanghai had more than 6.12 million fiber optic broadband users with average download speeds of 28 megabytes per second, 75 percent faster than 2017 speeds. The 4G user base reached 29.4 million, covering 85 percent of total mobile users, according to the Shanghai Commission of Economy and Information Technology.
The city will hold a Smart City festival from tomorrow, displaying and introducing the latest technologies such as AI, 5G and the Internet of Things.
