New plan to promote scenic sites
SHANGHAI’S cultural and tourism authorities released a new plan covering dining venues, tourism routes, scenic spots, and cultural and creative products yesterday as part of the city’s Double Five Shopping Festival.
A total of 121 cultural and tourist attractions across the city are offering discounted tickets to visitors. Among them, 42 are targeting medical workers in gratitude for their dedication in the novel coronavirus battle, the Shanghai Administration of Culture and Tourism said.
The aim of the plan is to help locals and tourists discover the city’s new splendor, landscapes and activities, thus boosting consumption and confidence, the administration said.
Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park, Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Shanghai Happy Valley and Huangpu River cruise tours are some of the attractions offering discounted admissions. Some of the offers last until the end of this year.
Yuyuan Garden, Jinshan City Beach, Haiwan National Forest Park and Zhujiajiao Water Town are some that offer free admission or discounted tickets to medical workers.
The discounted admissions are available on lvmama.com, a Shanghai-based online travel operator, the administration said.
Meanwhile, the city yesterday also released a list of 128 recommended tour routes.
These include fruit picking tours in Jinshan District and the Pudong New Area, cycling tours along the Huangpu River, trips to ancient towns and streets, and cultural tours to art galleries and museums in the city.
The vehicles of tour groups are strictly disinfected and tour guides, drivers and tourists are required to have their temperatures checked, the administration said.
The list also involves 147 activities such as a camping festival in Qingpu District, outdoor concerts in Huangpu District, a lavender festival in Pudong and a coffee week in Xuhui District.
Lists including more than 100 recommended restaurants and another 100 cultural and innovative products representing
Haipai (Shanghai-style) culture were also revealed yesterday.
Yesterday was China Tourism Day.
Some medical workers, community officials and volunteers who were on the front line of the battle against the novel coronavirus enjoyed a sightseeing tour on the Huangpu River yesterday in gratitude for their service.
Fang Fang, 36, a nurse of Shanghai Yangpu Hospital of TCM, went to Wuhan, the hardhit city in central China’s Hubei Province, on the fourth day of the Spring Festival holiday.
She spent 55 days at the Wuhan Third Hospital providing nursing care to COVID-19 patients.
“This is my first visit to the Huangpu River cruise tour and I am excited,” she said.
“Since I returned to Shanghai in March, I have kept a busy schedule,” Liu Ping, a doctor at Shanghai First Rehabilitation Hospital, said. “It is actually my first tour after returning to the city.”
Liu worked at intensive care units of the same hospital in Wuhan for more than 50 days.
