‘Mortal at the Helm’ ‘Morning Market’

The exhibition features Shang Liang’s in-depth developmen­t of visual images, extending from paintings to sculptures. Shang is regarded as an unorthodox gamelover, audacious contemplat­or and avant-garde contempora­ry artist in China. The muscular figures created by Shang imply mankind’s ongoing demand for imagecreat­ing.

It is Chinese painter Chen Fei’s solo exhibition, featuring still life paintings of fruit, dumplings, vegetables and old junk on a desk, to create a panorama of local life by drawing on worldly realities. Each painting tells a humorous idea of a lively market full of images, inviting the viewers to enter a kaleidosco­pic and folded world behind the still lives.

Japanese Design

The exhibition features Kashiwa Sato’s selected works from the same exhibition being held in Tokyo. By scanning QR codes, visitors can listen to him explaining his work in Japanese, with Chinese subtitles. In addition to the exhibition, organizers will host various events including live exchanges with the National Art Center in Tokyo, and design forums and symposiums.
