KYOWA PURSUES TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS FOR GREENER SOLUTIONS

-

For 69 years, Kyowa has been at the forefront of the plastics industry, constantly adapting its moulding expertise to fit the demands of various industries. From automotive to electronics, Kyowa has pushed technology’s limits to develop relevant products.

A one-stop shop for moulding and manufacturing plastic components and frames, Kyowa is no ordinary plastic company. It has always been mindful of its societal and environmental footprint.

Heeding the call for greener solutions, Kyowa is developing non-toxic chrome plating technology in cooperation with an Italian partner. This solution is crucial for the automotive industry, one of the heaviest users of the chrome plating process.

Kyowa is looking to manufacture the equipment in China to distribute the technology on a wider scale.

Keeping up with industry developments, Kyowa has started supplying 5G connectors for telecommunication optical fibres to a Switzerland-based company. Kyowa sees this sector as one of the key drivers of future growth.

In an era facing a looming climate crisis, Kyowa has become a game changer with its decision to use biodegradable plastics such as polylactic acid (PLA), which is derived from corn. Engineered to be stronger and more heat-resistant, Kyowa’s PLA can be used for electronic components and even cutlery to help reduce single-use plastic waste.

Using a revolutionary cultivation technology that can yield as much as 17,000 tomatoes from a single seed, Kyowa aims to take HYPONICA to the global stage as a solution to address food shortages.

Kyowa is determined to continue using technology to make a global impact. It is particularly keen on expanding its scope in China, India and the rest of Asia. As it has its own research and development centre in India, Kyowa seeks to develop new innovations through partnerships and joint ventures.

“We see Kyowa as a sustainable business that is good for the planet. We will continue to be Earthconscious,” says president
