Darth Minos HK$175,000 by Polo Bourieau urbanrocksculpture.com Bourieau is best known in Hong Kong among developers and architects for his work on monumental site-specific commissions such as the Earth Dragon in Elements or the Walking Man in Kwun Tong, but he has also gone back to the basics of hammer and chisel, producing his first range of precious stone sculptures from his workshop in Pietrasanta. Darth Minos is his personal favourite, a cross between a Star Wars Sith and a minotaur sculpted out of Nero Portoro from Liguria—a marble becoming very scarce as the quarry faces closure. Bourieau doesn't work with galleries so this is a rare collector's piece for those in the know.
