A total of 4,243 residential transactions and HKD 38.571 billion were registered in October 2018, up 21.2% and 4% m-o-m, respectively, according to Land Registry's information. Primary transactions were up 86.7% m-o-m to 2,337 cases; while the secondary transactions were down 15.2% m-o-m to 1,906 cases. For October, the Mass Residential Index and the Luxury Index increased by 2.4% m-o-m and 2% m-o-m, respectively and the Kowloon East Index was also up 0.5% m-o-m. How to use the Index Series:

If a luxury apartment in Mid-levels was transacted at HK$10 million in January 2000 using “Vigers’ Luxury Index” at 100, it would have appreciated to HK$20.6 million and HK$31.5 million, should the “Vigers’ Luxury Index” reach 206 by April 2012 and 315 by July 2013.

使用方法:

假設一個半山區豪宅在2000年1月的成交價為1000萬港元,當時的<威格斯豪宅指數>被設定為系數100;若到了2012年4月或2013年7月,該指數分別為206及315,即可解讀為該豪宅可能已升值至2060萬港元及3150萬港元。
