Mukesh and Manoj Butani looking sharp in their bespoke suits ith their bespoke sports jackets, spiffy trousers, and colourful ties and pocket squares, Manoj and Mukesh Butani create a double vision of the stylish modern gentleman. As co-directors of their family’s Hong Kong-based jewellery brand, Butani, the twin brothers take fashion, along with their business, seriously.

“We like to dress up every day, looking sharp and well-groomed. Dressing for success is what makes us stand out,” says Manoj. They go for bespoke suits and have about 20 pairs of trousers and five sports jackets tailor-made for them every season. “We enjoy mixing and matching materials and having a bit of fun with cuts and design details,” adds Mukesh. When it comes to dressing, the brothers believe that a splash of colour is always good. The two have their own collection of brightly coloured pocket squares and ties, and like to wear personalised gem-set Butani cufflinks, expertly crafted in emeralds, sapphires, rubies and diamonds.

With their business acumen and meticulous attention to detail, the brothers have taken Butani from its roots as a neighbourhood jeweller to an internationally recognised fine jewellery brand. “It’s an exciting time for us, with the release of our new collection, Metropolitan, and the opening of our second boutique in Hong Kong at The Peninsula,” says Manoj. The twins believe that people who know them can identify their sense of style with their brand. “Everything is one of a kind with us,” they add. “For extra flair, we like adding a touch of colour to our sports jackets” Manoj: “You can never go wrong with Ray-ban’s classic Wayfarers; they’re great for travel” “Diamond cufflinks are essential for us, as these match everything” Mukesh: “This is my second Breguet; I just love how masculine it looks“

Manoj: “I was one of the first people in Hong Kong to get a Rolex Milgauss—and I still get compliments on it”
