CARTIER

RÉVÉLATION D’UNE PANTHÈRE What is magical about manual winding calibres is that they connect the wearer to the movement that powers the timepiece. But the true magic of this timepiece is in the panther motif, which is revealed in gold beads on the dial when the wearer engages the watch on their wrist. With 45 brilliant-cut diamonds, this truly special jewellery watch comes to life whenever its worn.

VAN CLEEF & ARPELS

LADY ARPELS PLANÉTARIUM The Planetarium is a wearable ladies’ jewellery watch that also provides astrological enthusiasts a device to track the planets and their rotations around the sun. Originally released in 2014, the creatives behind this timepiece demonstrate the efforts that have gone into creating a smaller piece for ladies in 38mm white gold. For those not familiar with how many rotations Venus makes around the sun, Van Cleef & Arpels has cleverly provided a key for all the paths on the case back.

OMEGA

SEAMASTER 1948 The Omega Seamaster 1948 was launched to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the first Seamaster, with two limited editions that pay tribute to this military classic originally delivered to the British Ministry of Defence. Two versions are now available, one with a subdial at 6 o’clock, while the other is a central seconds model. For those who work around heavy magnetics or around tech gadgets, these watches can withstand exposure greater than 15,000 gauss. An amazing and commemorative case back completes the watch, paying tribute to the Chris-craft boat and Gloster Meteor aircraft. For those with a deep love of military heritage, or for those looking for a completely relevant vintage look of today, this is the perfect watch to purchase.

LONGINES

HERITAGE SKIN DIVER Nothing beats owning a watch that comes with a history—the Longines Heritage Skin Dive was inspired by the archives of the Longines classic Nautilus 6921. History comes with a price however, and owning a vintage watch often means the wearer cannot enjoy it to its full potential because of its delicate state. For that reason, owning both the vintage model and the modern version offers a way to enjoy both models in our daily lives. I love the black dive bezel made from black PVD steel with patina to match the dial, and also the large crown, which makes this watch an instant classic. One of my favourite features is the lack of a date window, which allows the user to concentrate on the most basic functions of time.

HUBLOT

BIG BANG UNICO RED MAGIC A bright red ceramic watch might not be for everyone, but the limited-edition Hublot Big Bang Unico Red Magic is true to the brand’s ethos of experimentation, and pushing the boundaries on material use. Hublot was able to deliver a bright red shine that is not normally seen in red ceramic, which tends to dull in the process of creation. Originally, the material was seen as the bezel of the Ferrari Unico, but this model takes it further, creating a truly unique timepiece. With its skeletonised dial and contrasting black accents on the watch case, this watch is sure to catch the eye. For the watch tech geeks, you will find a flyback chronograph, featuring hours, minutes, seconds and date functions.
