A Weekend to Remember
When Ziko Abram and Michele Sebagh announced their engagement in April last year, they had already decided they wanted their close friends to experience the allure of their ancestral homeland. Cut to May this year, when the couple brought together friends and family from around the world, including Reina Chau, Marissa Fung-shaw and Wendy Kwok from Hong Kong, for three days of wedding festivities in Israel.
Accompanied by Ziko’s parents, Ronald and Joyce, and siblings JJ and Jordan, the couple joined guests for the first of the nuptial celebrations, a traditional Sabbath dinner—a weekly Jewish ritual—on the Friday evening at the Ritz- Carlton, Herzliya, where many of the guests were staying. The following afternoon, guests took a short drive north to the ancient town of Caesarea for the Abrams’ beach party. We hear Lester Lam and Veronica Chou were among those particularly taken with local dishes created by Israeli celebrity chefs, not to mention the music provided by three international DJS.
Even though Saturday’s festivities lasted until midnight, the wedding party showed no signs of fatigue at Sunday’s main event at Ronit Farm, with the ceremony taking place in an amphitheatre decorated with white roses set amid 28 hectares of farmland. After the 400 guests witnessed the couple say “I do,” they were treated to a wedding banquet that included Filet Mignon, grilled lamb chops and Mediterranean fish.
A 16-member band playing English and Hebrew songs got the guests off their seats and onto the dancefloor, where the newlyweds took part in the traditional hora dance. A three-part DJ set kept the festivities going past 4am.
