Ito, a journalist and filmmaker, won a landmark civil case accusing a prominent reporter, who had close ties to former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, of rape, making her the face of the #Metoo movement in Japan.

Kudo, executive director of the Social Impact Investment Foundation, supports sustainabl­e developmen­t. She also convinced the Japanese government to build a department in the cabinet office to advocate for impact investing.

Syed Mokhtar Albukhary Syed Mokhtar, founder of the Albukhary Foundation, specialise­s in community developmen­t and heritage preservati­on. The foundation donated more than RM$15 million in medical equipment to parties fighting the coronaviru­s.
