We speak to the jeweller about celebrities, lockdown and what could have been

Tell us about your latest collection.

I started work on La Selva at the beginning of 2020. When Los Angeles first shut down, I felt deprived of nature and spent my days daydreaming about the jungle, which is how flora and fauna came to inspire this collection.

What’s your favourite flower?

The lady’s slipper orchid. I grew up in Massachusetts, where they don’t grow too often, so my mom and I would hunt for them on walks behind our house. When I was little, finding one felt like pure magic.

How has Covid-19 impacted you?

I throw myself into my work when I’m stressed, so I’ve actually been quite productive.

What would you be if you weren’t a jeweller?

I’d have an animal rescue farm and still hope to have one, one day.

If you could dress anyone, who would it be?

Florence Welch. I love that her style is so effortlessly hers, and she wears a lot of vintage pieces, which are more sustainable. I’d like to dress her in my Earth Compass or Moss earrings.

What television show are you bingeing?

Euphoria on HBO.

What music are you listening to right now?

Christine and the Queens.
