Malaysian actor Bront Palarae shows off his fashion flair

With decades of experience and dozens of films to his name, Malaysian actor Bront Palarae, 43, is a household name in his homeland. But he is proving to be one to watch elsewhere too, following his recent appearance as Pengiran Indera Mahkota, the governor of Sarawak, in Edge of the World alongside Hong Kong’s Josie Ho, Irish actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Brit Dominic Monaghan.

One of the country’s best-known actors, Palarae’s first leading role in 2010 movie Belukar garnered him a best actor award at the Malaysia Film Festival; more recently he was recognised at the 25th Asian Television Awards for his performanc­e in The Bridge, a Malaysian-singaporea­n crime drama inspired by the Nordic series of the same name.
