LIFE OF PI

Yann Martel’s Man Booker Prizewinner Life of Pi comes alive on stage at Wyndham’s Theatre in London’s West End this autumn. Lolita Chakrabarti, who was awarded an OBE for services to drama this year, adapted Martel’s philosophical tale of an Indian Tamil boy called Pi who survives a shipwreck and spends 227 days adrift on a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger. The play features life-size puppets of the animals from the book, stunning visuals of the ocean and Sri Lankan actor Hiran Abeysekera’s critically acclaimed portrayal of the protagonist.
