KATHMANDU INTERNATIONAL MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL

Set up in 2000 by the Himal Association, a non-profit organisation dedicated to the educational, journalistic and cultural development of Nepal, this annual event features both local and global films. The Nepal Panorama category is dedicated to Nepalese films that document contemporary social issues related to religion, cultural practices, extreme sports and adventure. The international category is open to films that celebrate mountains, mountain environments and culture, and that present the classic confrontation between man and nature to a global audience.
