a funfair or music or food festival, the land surrounding the AIA wheel on Central Harbourfront sits as a dusty wasteland for most of the year. However, over the next decade or so, that view will be replaced by three new buildings and a rooftop park. In response to a government brief for a “people-centric design” for the prime land plot, Lee Shaukee’s Henderson Land won with a record-breaking bid of HK$50.8 billion. As part of the agreement, the developer has to complete both plots by the end of 2027 and 2032 respectively. A new platform called The Horizon Park at the roof level will connect the three buildings, while providing a lawn, jogging routes and outdoor space for public use. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Central cityscape and Victoria Harbour as well ... or have more obstacles to weave through when racing for the Discovery Bay ferry.
