JOANNA LUI HICKOX
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, GALAXY ENTERTAINMENT GROUP FOUNDATION AND GALAXY ART
Joanna Lui Hickox is the executive director of the Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) Foundation, which carries out philanthropic activities in Macau and mainland China, and Galaxy Art, an experience-led exhibition and events space. “I am so passionate about my work in the lifestyle and culture side [of the business], but I am most proud of our launch of the GEG Foundation, which nurtures young talent and offers support to the elderly,” she says.
The daughter of Francis Lui, GEG’S deputy chairman, Lui Hickox is an active supporter of local arts and cultural development, and her goal is to preserve cultural heritage, and foster the integration of tourism and culture. Leveraging the vast resources and relationships of Galaxy resorts locally and internationally allows Lui Hickox to do tangible good. The Galaxy Foundation programmes such as the GEG Arts & Cultural Initiative, GEG Intangible Cultural Heritage Scheme, and GEG Chinese Music Promotion Scheme helped earn the team the prestigious 2021 Gold Award for Culture from the Pacific Asia Travel Association, a global tourism organisation.
In March, the company welcomed the Raffles brand into its portfolio with Raffles at Galaxy Macau and, in 2022, will also open luxury lifestyle hotel The Andaz there.
