Billionaire businessman Tadashi Yanai is the founder of Fast Retailing, though he is better known for launching its subsidiary company, global fashion retailer Uniqlo. His net worth is estimated to be in excess of US$42 billion. This year, the retail magnate donated US$88 million to Kyoto University in aid of its vaccine development and Covid-19 research programme.
