Orange you glad Hublot came out with a purple version of last year’s Orange Sapphire? While the brand has plenty of experience working with industrial sapphire for its Big Bang line, in my humble opinion, this one blows its multicoloured siblings out of the water. Putting aside the fact that it is a high complication watch, with the HUB 6035 calibre powering its self-winding tourbillon, it’s the hue that is the true testament to the brand’s technological innovation. It has managed to create a purple that is as translucent as it is vibrant, no easy feat considering one can’t see the purity or richness of the colour until after the heat treatment of the sapphire.
