To celebrate the reopening of its guest rooms and Spa on 1 March 2021, The Peninsula Paris is delighted to extend a collection of special welcome offers to its clientele, allowing guests to reconnect with the hotel's exquisite amenities and service – and with one another – in safety and unsurpassed Peninsula comfort.
The Peninsula Hotels made its grand entrance into Europe in 2014 with The Peninsula Paris, setting new standards in design, luxury and comfort. The property is a century-old Beaux Arts building which first opened in 1908 as the Hotel Majestic, and enjoyed 40 years as one of Paris' most famous landmarks. The building was meticulously restored and modernised discretely to create the finest example of Peninsula excellence and a distinctly Parisian grand hotel, bringing a new level of distinction to the City of Light.
With its spectacular terraces, gardens and skyline views, The Peninsula Paris offers the finest accommodation, dining and service, standing majestically at the very heart of the city in a quintessentially Parisian location. As with all Peninsula Hotels, location is of prime importance and Paris is no exception. Perfectly situated within the ‘Golden Triangle' between Avenue des Champs Elysées and Avenue Victor Hugo at 19 Avenue Kléber in the heart of the 16th arrondissement, The Peninsula sits close to some of the world's most famous monuments, museums and luxury shopping districts.
Rising seven storeys above Avenue Kléber, The Peninsula houses 200 luxurious rooms, including 46 suites, which are amongst the largest in Paris.
Designed to perfection with distinct Parisian influences, signature Peninsula functionality and grand ceilings, all the hotel's rooms and suites are embellished with meticulously curated artworks, elegant furniture, ambient lighting, and the ultimate in proprietary technology.
In keeping with its commitment to providing an unparalleled guest experience, The Peninsula Paris invites both travellers and local residents to reunite with the hotel in a variety of ways. Whether for business or pleasure, with loved ones or solo visitors can choose from four special offerings that are designed to optimise their stay.
'Together Again', an offer commemorating the reopening of the hotel, allows participating guests to benefit from an upgrade to the next room category, daily American breakfast for two, one €80 Spa credit per room, and complimentary valet parking.
With the 'Gastronomic Voyage' offer, guests can enjoy the magnificent French cuisine of Chef David Bizet in the comfort of their rooms. As well as a specially designed three-course menu, this offer also provides diners with daily American breakfast for two, one €80 spa credit per room, and complimentary valet parking.
Michelin-starred Chef Bizet (42) was appointed Executive Chef at The Peninsula Paris in June 2020, bringing his acclaimed gastronomy to further solidify the hotel restaurants' status as some of the premier culinary destinations in Paris.
Originally from Mortagne-au-Perche, Chef Bizet retains a special love for his home region of Normandy. He developed an early appreciation of food, and respect for the land and its bounty, by spending much of his childhood on his grandparents' farm. The pastoral beauty of the environment and his family's culinary heritage sparked a passion for cooking with local, seasonal ingredients that Chef Bizet preserves to this day.
After graduating from the esteemed Lycée Hôtelier de Granville Maurice Marland in 1993, he received his diploma in 1997 in Caen. Chef Bizet began his professional career as Demi Chef de Partie at the world-famous Le Cinq restaurant at the Four Seasons George V in Paris. He remained at the hotel for 18 years, eventually taking on the role of Chef at Le Cinq in 2014, and then Chef at L'Orangerie restaurant. In that capacity, he was awarded his first Michelin star in 2017. In 2018, Chef Bizet moved on to join the team at Paris's storied Le Taillevent restaurant, where he received his second Michelin star in January 2020.
“The opportunity to offer such a wide variety of cuisines in such distinctive outlets – from the French gastronomy of L'Oiseau Blanc to the refined Cantonese cuisine of LiLi and the globally inspired recipes of Le Lobby – is a wonderful challenge,” says Chef Bizet.
Michelin Magic
In 2020, The Peninsula Paris' gourmet French restaurant L'Oiseau Blanc was delighted to receive its first star awarded by the Michelin Guide. The rooftop restaurant, revealing unobstructed views of the Parisian skyline, offers a reinterpretation of traditional dishes in a contemporary style by using classic techniques, faithful to the culinary traditions of French cuisine.
“We are extremely honoured to receive this prestigious award. This achievement is the result of daily commitment from the team. Our employees dedicate themselves to providing our guests with the best possible standards of luxury service, and to be bestowed with such an exclusive award is proof of this. I am very proud of them.” said Mauro Governato, General Manager of The Peninsula Paris. “I would like to thank our two owners, Katara Hospitality and The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels Limited, for their continuous support and confidence. This award reflects a lasting and close collaboration, which promises to take The Peninsula Paris to the next level, combining Peninsula excellence and French savoir-faire.”
L'Oiseau Blanc's team brings a true commitment to their tireless work as they devise captivating culinary matches that are both new and original, using produce to best effect with great mastery, without betraying the principles of traditional French cuisine. From the classics to bolder, contemporary creations, L'Oiseau Blanc promises a delicacy of flavours, a subtlety of textures and a complete balance of the senses to create an unforgettable dining experience.
This exceptional venue takes its inspiration from the theme of aviation, celebrating the adventures of the aviators Charles Nungesser and François Coli who attempted to cross the Atlantic in 1927, setting off from Le Bourget. It pays homage to them with a unique collection of memorabilia, including a 1/75 scale replica of their L'Oiseau Blanc biplane, displayed in the adjacent courtyard.
For optimal luxury and relaxation, The Peninsula Paris' 'Suite Delight' offer is ideal. With any reservation of a suite, guests choosing this offer can enjoy daily American breakfast for two, one €150 in-room dining credit per room, two 60-minute spa treatments per room, and round-trip limousine transfer to and from the hotel (available within Paris only), or complimentary valet parking.
