The Peninsula Magazine

FROM THE CEO

- Clement K M Kwok Chief Executive Officer

Iam delighted and proud that The Peninsula Beverly Hills recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. Over the past three decades, with its superb facilities and amenities as well as The Peninsula's philosophy of excellent customer service, the hotel has endeared itself both to the local community and to staying guests, and it enjoys one of the highest repeat guest ratios in the hospitality industry.

In 1989, The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited entered into a partnership with the Zarnegin family to build The Peninsula Beverly Hills and the hotel was officially opened two years later in 1991. Today, The Peninsula Beverly Hills is recognised as one of the finest hotel properties in both California and the United States, having garnered a multitude of awards and accolades over the years. Its success would not have been the same without the invaluable support of our management and staff. Under the leadership of Managing Director Offer Nissenbaum, our team is driven by passion, dedication and a desire to explore new and creative ways of engaging with our guests and delivering an exceptionally high quality of services and products.

We are marking the hotel's 30th anniversary with an extensive feature in this issue which documents its development over the last three decades.

We also delve into the world of art through an interview with Dutch artist Peter Riezebos, who later this year will take up temporary residency at The Peninsula New York. Guests and visitors will be able to view his process of creation as he produces four major artworks, which will subsequently be exhibited in the hotel over a period of one year.

We also take you to The Peninsula Beijing, where, as a continuation of our ongoing ‘Art in Resonance' programme celebrating and nurturing contemporary art, the hotel has partnered with the Yuan Museum to present ‘The House of Collections' exhibition. On show until the end of October, four immersive art spaces invite guests to reimagine their personal meaning of "home" in thought-provoking ways.

In the automotive realm, another key facet of the company, we look back at this year's The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, a Peninsula Signature event now in its 18th year, which celebrates the ultimate in automotive design, engineering and camaraderie in a garden party setting during the world-famous Monterey Car Week.

As always, I hope you will enjoy our sharing in this magazine. With deepest appreciation, I thank you for your continued support to The Peninsula Group.
