At the end of every March, people pour into Hong Kong from all over the world. Among them are gallery owners or art gallery founders, professional curators or critics and artists, not to mention collectors who lavish money on art. Thanks to the buzz created by the two great art festivals, Basel and Art Central, a fervour for contemporary art has all but saturated Hong Kong’s Central District. After seeing the exhibitions of Gagosian, Lehmann Maupin, Ben Brown, Hanart TZ Gallery, and Pearl Lam Galleries in the Pedder Building, you can walk to the Agricultural Bank of China Building on 50 Connaught Road Central to visit Galerie Perrotin and White Cube. After this, you might stroll over to Queen's Road Central, ending with Pace Gallery and Axel Vervoordt Gallery. If you plan to venture a little further through Hollywood Road and its surrounding alleys, you can find Yan Gallery, Plum Blossoms Gallery, Blindspot Gallery, Osage Gallery and Parkview Art. You get the picture; the area is teeming with art.
