Walking into Africa
The 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-africa Cooperation (FOCAC), was held in the Great Hall of the People, in Beijing, on September 3-4. The previous two forums were held in Beijing, in 2006, and in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 2015.
Since the first FOCAC was held in Beijing, in 2000, China and Africa have made remarkable achievements in their cooperation. China values sincerity, friendship and equality when pursuing cooperation. During the past three years, the China-africa cooperation plans have created about 900,000 job opportunities for people in African countries. The development of a country requires a stable and favorable international environment. The FOCAC has played an exemplary role in promoting South-south cooperation. It is believed the most recent forum will continue the promotion of the development of the strategic China-africa cooperation.
