Promoting Cultural Exchanges
The People's Government of Gansu Province (in Northwest China), China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, National Radio and Television Administration and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade from September 2728 hosted the Third Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo. The event was held in Dunhuang, a city in Gansu Province.
On the eve of the expo, Gansu Women's Federation and the China Association of Women Entrepreneurs held the First Forum on the Promotion of Women's Cultural Exchanges. Many enterprises, from different regions of the country, during the forum, signed agreements with Gansu's trade unions (including the crafts, edible fungi and fruit unions), to cooperate with the unions in businesses. On the same day, Gansu Women's Federation held a ceremony to mark the opening of the Exhibition of Women Calligraphers and Painters' Excellent Works. Organizers showcased the charm of traditional Chinese culture to the world through more than 100 artworks. He Wei, Vice-governor of Gansu Province, told media the purpose of the forum and other activities, conducted during the expo, was to promote economic cooperation and cultural exchanges among Chinese women and women in other countries.
