TE­A­TRO NACIONAL DE CU­BA A PLA­CE FOR ART AND HIS­TORY

The Te­a­tro Nacional de Cu­ba Cultural Com­plex, lo­ca­ted at Pa­seo and 39th stre­et, Pla­za de la Re­vo­lu­ci­ón, be­longs to the Na­ti­o­nal Coun­cil of Per­for­ming Arts of the Mi­nistry of Cul­tu­re. It was inau­gu­ra­ted on Sep­tem­ber 3, 1979.

We have two well-equip­ped and com­for­ta­ble halls: the Ave­lla­ne­da, with 2,056 se­ats, has be­en a sta­ge for pres­ti­gi­ous com­pa­ni­es, groups and so­loists.

The Co­var­ru­bi­as, with 840 stalls, is a mo­re in­ti­ma­te ve­nue. It is cur­rently the he­ad­quar­ters of the Na­ti­o­nal Symp­hony Orc­hes­tra.

Its lo­ca­ti­on is pri­vi­le­ge: in the sur­roun­dings of the Pla­za de la Re­vo­lu­ci­ón. Its in­te­ri­or and ex­te­ri­or spa­ces are ador­ned with pa­tri­mo­ni­al works of ar­tists of gre­at pres­ti­ge from Cu­ba and ot­her parts of the world.
