TAXIS CUBA IS MARKED BY PROFESSIONALISM, TOP-OF-THE-LINE SERVICES AND AUTHENTICITY.

IT’S THE ONLY COMPANY OF ITS KIND IN THE COUNTRY THAT’S ALWAYS AT YOUR BECK AND CALL TO DRIVE YOU, GUIDE YOU AND PROTECT YOU

Founded in 2013, Taxis Cuba is the island nation's leading transportation company. It's turn five years in 2018 with an array of outcomes that has helped the country's social and economic life. Adjusted to the new process Cuba is going through, the company has endured an all-out transformation in this five-year period, general manager Jorge Luis Diaz Hernandez told the Excelencias magazine in an exclusive interview.

“The company was passed as a new management model. From state-run employees, we became private or non-state workers. Therefore, from that moment on cabdrivers rent their cars from Cuba Taxi to work in the realm of national and international tourism. They now have a bigger say in the costs, expenditures and revenues, and their sense of belongingness also accrues,” Mr. Diaz Hernandez said.

“This process started in 2015 by combining cabdrivers who owned their vintage cars, and it's been a complete success. This is now one of the most sought-after services of all, especially among cruise passengers.”

Taxi Cuba cars –of yellow color with white paint on the roofscover all the country's provinces, let alone all of its top travel destinations. Their high-quality offers target eventful customers and can be requested through phone calls, at travel agencies, tourism companies, farming and non-farming cooperatives, as well as joint ventures and foreign companies.

But Taxi Cuba wants to please its customers and never stops thinking big. It will soon roll out an app that will let customers pinpoint the nearest cab, thus streamlining the routes and further planning the pickup service.

“At the same time, we're making trials of letting customers pay with international credit cards accepted on the island, especially in some 40 vehicles that are working at the airports. That'll bring us closer to the international standards. We're also taking requests from abroad through the Excelencias' website,” Mr. Diaz Hernandez went on to explain.

Its services are broken down in luxury, regular and higher, and VIP. There are regular cars, jeeps, microbuses, coco-taxis and tou-

rist trains associated to the company. They all have their insurance policy in place that protect them against all risks and third-party damages, and they are all fitted out with quality requirements for this kind of service: air conditioning, seatbelts, trunks and a stock of spare parts for their maintenance and repair.

“The fleet has been upgraded a lot. The cars that end their lifespan in TRANSTUR are sold to us, and that includes such brands and makes as

Audi and Renault Latitude, which boast higher standards. We recently received 344 brand-new Lada Vesta cars. I believe we have a fleet that meets the demands of international tourism.”

For the upcoming International Tourism Fair FITCuba 2018 –it will feature sun-and beach tourism- Taxi Cuba has allotted a major stock of cars. “We have an agency in Villa Clara with over 150 cars ready to hit the road. That agency is ready to cover the fair from top to bottom.”
