In summer, it is advisable to wear light and fresh clothes, preferably made of cotton.

If you travel to the eastern part of the country, you should consider a larger dosage of hydration, as it is the hottest and most humid part of the country.

In Cuba, it is customary to leave a few coins at the entrance of bathrooms in public places.

Tap water is drinkable, although bottled water is recommende­d.

Electric power in Cuba is 110/220 V and 60 Hz frequency. Outlets are generally for flat pins and, in less frequent cases, round but also those that have three pins (two flat ones and a round one) are used.

Crime rate in Cuba is relatively low; it is one of the safest countries in Latin America. However, it is recommende­d to be careful at night and in areas away from city downtown or in isolated places.

Even if credit cards are accepted in some places, it is always advisable to carry cash.

Although in many places 10% of the bill is charged for the service, it is assumed that you will leave a few coins if you feel satisfied.

For air travel, you will need a passport.

You should keep in mind to carry your medicines with you, and give a warning at restaurant­s, if necessary, if you suffer from any allergies.

Before insects’ bites or any other incident such as the appearance of rashes on the skin, wash with plenty of water and see the doctor immediatel­y.
