In 1994 this final episode in a spoof cop trilogy made a $20 million profit. Give it a go.

That master of deadpan satire Leslie Nielsen is again Lieutenant Frank Drebin, who creates mayhem at every turn. America’s answer to Inspector Clouseau.

Drebin has retired from police work and has a fractious marriage to lawyer Jane Spencer, alias Priscilla Presley. She accuses him of not wanting children. He replies: “That’s not true. You know how much I wanted to adopt that 18-yearold Korean girl!” Hmmm.

Drebin goes undercover as a convict to get close to felon Rocco, alias Fred Ward, who is masterminding a plot to blow up the Hollywood Academy Awards ceremony from his cell.

Drebin inadvertently causes a prison riot and escapes with Rocco. Directed by Peter Segal from a script by David Zucker.

Radio Times called it: “Very, very funny. Another endearingly silly, gag-filled spoof. Nielsen delivers another wonderfully deadpan performance.”
