A woman who lost her memory after suffering head injuries doesn’t know who to believe about her life — her husband or her shrink?

A dozen years ago, housewife Christine Lucas, alias Nicole Kidman, suffered brain damage and wakes up every morning in an unfamiliar house alongside a seeming stranger. He is her husband Ben, played by Colin Firth, who tells her who and where she is.

Then she gets a visit from psychiatrist Dr Nash, alias Mark Strong, treating her against Ben’s wishes. Christine learns she was not injured in a car accident but in a vicious personal attack that left her for dead.

Dr Nash makes her keep a video diary of her life. The truth begins to unravel when she rediscovers an old friend, Claire, alias Anne-Marie Duff. Is Ben really her husband? Rowan Joffe directed and wrote a tense screenplay in 2014 from a bestselling novel by SJ Watson.
