Kads seeks budding actors for new show
KYRENIA Amateur Dramatic Society (Kads) invites budding thespians to “roll up for a role” this month as plans unfold for a new production with the support of the British Residents Society (BRS) and a Bafra comedy variety show, both to be held in May.
Casting will take place at St Andrew’s Church hall from 4.30pm to 6.30pm on Saturday, January 20, which also offers the chance to chat to producers and discover 2018 opportunities for volunteers seeking a fun way to help charities via acting or backstage in forthcoming productions.
Spokesman Phil Lucock said: “We are looking for four chaps including one nonspeaking role, and three ladies, one a small part, for our new production by Caroline ‘Scribbles’ [Attwood], which will be a murder mystery entitled FatalReaction.”
The new production will include dinner and hinges on a school reunion where “sparks fly with fatal consequences for one of the cast”.
Would-be players may email the author for a synopsis of each role at caroline_attwood@hotmail.com in order to prepare for audition.
Mr Lucock said a single performance was planned for May at a venue to be announced which will be sourced with BRS help since Girne’s Pia Bella Hotel is no longer available, nor are there definite dates for the reopening of the soon-to-berefurbished Municipality Cultural Centre in Girne.
He added: “We are also venturing out to Bafra by popular demand for a reprise show of KadsandBounders sketches, comedy and variety at the Thalassa Resort near Çayırova, which is scheduled for Saturday, May 26.”
