Ladies-only category a brilliant idea

HOW nice of the Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble (Efrar) committee to think of a ladies-only category (Cyprus Today, January 20) for them to show their skills in running as some of them seemed very serious about attending the event last year. They now have a chance to prove themselves and win a trophy.

It is a brilliant idea to encourage more of them to take action in being active, keeping fit and running for a purpose with the aim of winning an award for their achievements while raising money for a very good cause.

This year the new committee is really trying hard to introduce new ideas to create different events until the day of the fun run and through these I believe they will attract more people to become involved in fundraising, which is what they need to do to continue breaking records in the amount they raise each year. Let us hope that this year we will all be pleasantly surprised to see how well the event has done with the help of very generous donors who will hopefully once again provide their support, which will be a huge help for cancer patients being supported by the Help of Help Those With Cancer Association (Tulips).

All those who put effort into raising such money should be congratulated and motivated to do even more.
