Theatre group seeks actors for new production
KYRENIA Amateur Dramatic Society (Kads) are on the hunt for “new blood” to take part in a murder mystery co-production with the British Residents Society (BRS), to debut early in May.
BRS members swelled Kads’ ranks at Saturday auditions for Caroline Attwood’s new Fatal Reaction, but the am-dram group is still short of one male actor.
“We need some new blood so that I can write some plays without old-age pensioners in them!” Kads spokesman Phil Lucock said.
“An entertaining time was had by all and we hope to return [to] our old routine at the Girne Municipality Cultural Centre once renovations are completed this year.”
Budding thespians can apply for an audition by sending an email to caroline_attwood@gmail.com.
Kads are also planning a series of performances on May 26 at the Thalassa resort in Bafra. The programme will include “four or five vintage British TV or original sixminute sketches” from three seasons of Kads and Bounders; Shakespeare in 15 Minutes and a new comedy featuring the “inmates” of the “St Kads Old Folks’ Home” set in a day out in Clacton, entitled St Kads on the Pier.
