Man injures his leg in power tool accident

A MECHANIC was seriously injured after dropping an angle grinder on his leg. Fikret Engin, 54, had been using the power tool while working at Hyundai Özok in Haspolat last Friday when its rotating disc became jammed, causing him to lose his grip on it. Mr Engin was rushed to Lefkoşa State Hospital with a deep cut to his left leg. The incident follows four workplace accidents during the first 20 days of the year, one of them fatal.
