A LANDMARK episode in the magical Harry Potter series. Teenaged Harry discovers girls, grows up a bit and this schoolboy romp about apprentice wizards and witches becomes as much for adults as kids.

Harry, alias Daniel Radcliffe, makes sheep’s eyes at a girl student and even steals a kiss. He isn’t smoking behind the bicycle sheds, but he is now a young man and ready to face the final showdown with the evil magician Voldemort, alias Ralph Fiennes.

The scene stealer is the ruthless new headmistress played by Imelda Staunton, a kind of concentration camp commandant in twin set and pearls.

Harry faces expulsion but survives with the connivance of chums Hermione and Ron, alias Emma Watson and Rupert Grint.

Directed by David Yates in 2007. The next episode is screened immediately after this.
