Little Michael is inconsolable after being told he can’t go to Aldi on Sunday

-

IT’S swiftly becoming one of the country’s favourite supermarkets — but no-one loves Aldi like this toddler.

The budget supermarket chain has just knocked Waitrose off the top spot for the nation’s favourite in-store supermarket.

But for little Michael Finn, Aldi is so much more than a supermarket.

The two-year-old loves his trips to the store with his mum and he was utterly inconsolable when he was told they wouldn’t be visiting.

The toddler loves his visits to “Aldis” with mum Kelly and was looking forward to the food shop last week.

But when Kelly explained to him that the store had closed early with it being Sunday, he broke down in tears.

The mum-of-two filmed her little one’s reaction and sent a tongue-in-cheek tweet to Aldi asking the retailer to reconsider its Sunday opening hours.

Her tweet said: “Dear AldiUK, please consider longer opening hours on a Sunday. Much love, your biggest [and probably youngest] fan. Michael Jr. age 2.”

The video, which shows Michael playing with a toy car and telling his mum he wants to go to Aldi for food, has had more than 4,000 views.

Kelly, 32, told the Manchester Evening News : “He loves Aldi. We go twice a week normally for top up shops as we’re forever running out of fresh produce.

“I’ve had lots of people saying how funny and cute he is in the video. Aldi thanked me for sharing and said they were pleased he loved it.”
