Days of Art and Culture kicks off
İSKELE Municipality launch their ninth Days of Art and Culture on Thursday with a “Lovesick İskele” (Sevdalı İskele) photo competition and a 7pm opening at the Atatürk Cultural Centre.
A folk dance show and refreshments will be on offer at the launch, which includes an 8pm poetry reading by İstanbul actor and TV/radio presenter, İbrahim Sadri.
The one-month season closes with the third annual Fusion of Cultures Day from 10am on April 1, promising tastes and sales of local cuisines from around the world.

The Art and Culture Days programme features performances of Cries Unheard on Thursday, March 8, a drama on violence against women, and the comedy Parcel, Parcel on Saturday, March 17, from the Zalihe Susuzlu Theatre. A concert by the Modern Music Association’s Turkish Classical Music Choir is on offer on March 10, to be conducted by Ersin Tünay. Beyarmudu Municipality’s South Mesaoria People’s Theatre offers a performance of Nor & Betmez on Wednesday, March 14, with a performance of the play Blackboard by Lefkoşa Turkish Municipality Theatre on Monday, March 19 and a Shady Cabinet Comedy from İskele Municipality Theatre on Tuesday, March 27. All theatre performances are in Turkish.
The 20th International Poetry Fest is lined up for 8pm on Friday, March 31 and welcomes poets from Turkey, Iran and Bulgaria.
All events are free of charge, start at 8pm and will be staged at the İskele Municipality Atatürk Cultural Centre.
