A PSYCHOLOGICAL whodunit about a veteran detective investigating a murder where his son is the chief suspect. A true story about real life New York homicide cop, Lieutenant Vincent LaMarca, alias Robert De Niro, who returned to his hometown.

In this rundown Long Island resort LaMarca confronts various ghosts from his own dubious past. A portrait of ruined lives set in the appropriately atmospheric shell of a once vibrant community.

LaMarca is powerfully reunited with his estranged teenaged son Joey, alias James Franco, whom he abandoned as an infant. Joey, a rather gaunt addict, is accused of murdering a drugs dealer.

LaMarca’s own turbulent background includes the execution for murder of his father. Killing seems to run in the family.

These revelations have an unsettling effect upon LaMarca’s girlfriend Michelle, played by Frances McDormand in an underwritten role.
