Dog show to boost Hope 4 Pets coffers

IT’LL be no joke — but lots of fun — when a dog show takes place on April 1 to support the Hope 4 Pets animal welfare group and the Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble (Efrar), which raises money for the Help Those With Cancer Association (Tulips).

The second such show at Küçük Erenköy’s Roots Bar will see registrations open from 1.30pm for a 2pm start, with all pets, great and small, welcome in categories including Golden Oldie, Musical Sit and Waggiest Tail — plus a “sausage-catching” competition.

Royal British Legion Kyrenia branch chairman Brian Thomas will be the judge, with rosettes going to the top dogs, and a raffle will be drawn.

Efrar committee chairman Mary Watson said she was sure the event would be “as much fun” as last year’s, which raised 2,000TL for the two charities.

PLANS are also under way for the annual Kyrenia Animal Rescue Dog Show and Spring Fayre, to be held on April 29 and with 10 canine classes. Details will be announced closer to the date.
